Health Tip: Coping With Alzheimer’s Disease

While there is no cure for Alzheimer’s disease, there are a handful of drugs that can help manage symptoms.

Besides medication, there are things the caregiver can do to help a loved one with Alzheimer’s cope. The Cleveland Clinic suggests:

  • Make sure you’re well informed about the disease. Read up about typical behavioral challenges, such as depression, agitation and wandering.
  • Provide a stable, calm environment for the loved one.
  • Help the loved one express emotions.
  • Make sure the loved one adheres to a regular sleep schedule.
