Health Tip: Get a Stress Test

A stress test measures your heart’s response when it’s under stress during exercise. The test can help identify serious heart problems, such as coronary artery disease.

The National Heart, Lung, and Blood Institute says that a stress test can help identify:

  • Irregular changes affecting your blood pressure or heart rate.
  • Chest pain or shortness of breath, especially if they occur when you’re not exercising strenuously.
  • Irregularities in the electrical activity or rhythm of your heart.
