Health Tip: Need More Energy?

Many people struggle to find the energy to make it through a busy day. But eating the right foods can help you power through.

The Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics suggests:

  • Eat every three to four hours, to boost metabolism and prevent getting too hungry.
  • Watch portion sizes and avoid overeating. Eat until you’re comfortable but not too full.
  • Focus on balanced meals that include lean proteins, whole grains, vegetables, fruit, low-fat or fat-free dairy, and healthy fats.
  • Avoid foods that may make energy levels sag, such as sodas, energy drinks and coffee loaded with sugar. Drink enough fluids, such as skim milk, water or tea without sugar.
