Health Tip: Watch for Illness After Vacation

You’ve just come back from a trip to where the weather’s warm and the water is bright blue.

Now you’ve got to be careful that you didn’t bring back an unwanted guest. The U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention advises:

  • If you feel sick or not quite right, see your doctor and be sure to mention your recent trip.
  • If you traveled to an area with Zika, use insect repellent for at least three weeks after your trip. Avoiding mosquito bites will help prevent transmitting the virus to others.
  • If your destination had Zika, help protect your partner by using a condom for at least six months after your return.
