Health Tip: Eat for the Right Reasons

You should eat when you’re hungry, not out of boredom or stress, experts say.

The American Heart Association has ideas that can help you meet this goal:

  • Follow a consistent meal schedule, eating three times per day, to avoid getting too hungry.
  • Don’t buy binge foods, such as candy or chips.
  • Create a list of things you can do instead of eating, such as going for a walk, talking to a friend, doing a craft or tackling household chores.
