No matter what the age…most people get cranky when they don’t get enough sleep. But now, parents all over the planet will be happy to hear that a regular bedtime is good for your kids…and their behavior. Researchers analyzed data from more than 10-thousand children tracking their bedtime schedules at three, five and seven years of age. Parents and teachers also provided information about any behavioral difficulties.The results Children without a regular bedtime were more prone to bad behavior and the issues only got worse the longer they had no set sleep schedule. The good news? When kids were switched to a more regular bedtime, their behavior improved significantly.Researchers aren’t sure if it’s disrupted circadian rhythms or sleep deprivation that causes the problems…but they say their findings prove that having a nightly routine is an important influence on children’s behavior.I’m Dr. Cindy Haines of HealthDay TV with the health news that matters to you.
